Paalam Po, 'Tay

Thank you everyone for all the birthday greetings. I apologize for acknowledging this so late, but the past few days have been a very stressful ordeal for my family.

On June 22, we had to rush my father to the hospital because he was having great difficulty breathing. We initially thought it was asthma, but learned later on that it was because of a heart attack. We then rushed him to the Philippine Heart Center so that he can be treated by specialists. The doctors tried to administer the procedures that could save him, but his body was becoming too weak and each attempt only made his vitals drop further. Finally, after days of struggling, he was finally at peace this morning on June 24.

I'll be gone for a while. Now, it's just the three of us, and my mother and sister need me at their side. Even when I was just a child, father has always said that I was the "man of the house" when he's away. He told me that he's thankful his first born was a son who can take his place and care for my mother and sister. From today, I must fulfill that obligation to him.

Wala kayong pagkukulang, tatay.
Naibigay niyo po ang lahat sa amin.
Mahal na mahal namin kayo.
