3D Niho - 2016 Swimsuit Ed.

I may not have been working on new drawings lately, but I've been studying other forms of digital art in the meantime. I've spent some time with Blender and refined Niho's existing model a little more. I decided make a second model for Niho's 2016 swimsuit design, so that I'd also end up with a working base model for other clothes/ensembles in the future.

Working on this model taught me a lot: using curves and array modifiers to add ruffles, texture painting directly on the model, adjusting bone weights so that separate meshes move together properly, inverse kinematics and other constraints, creating a facial rig with shape keys (as opposed to previously using textures on a static face) and so on.

It was a lot of work, but the end result is pretty good! Maybe it's not as complex or refined as other 3d models I've come across, but it's my first completed rig!
