Artist's Comments Wha? A background???That's right people, Jdan can draw backgrounds. It's just that he usually can't visualize one effectively and/or is too lazy to do one after drawing the character!  So here we have my second and fully-colored fanart pic of Coco Calypso, my fave character from the new Strawberry Shortcake series! And she has Seaberry Shore all to herself, along with Papaya Parrot and about two dozen monkeys and no one else for miles and miles! They're just not shown in the pic, this one's all about Coco!  The primary reason I was able to make a full BG this time and keep the pic so colorful and whimsical was because it really helps if you have Coco's episode at your disposal! I must've watched the Seaberry Shore episode to death before I was able to do this! Plus, since it's a DVD, it really helped that I can pause it at any scene! So I can just sit in front of the TV and sketch things out with firsthand references, which I did!  Once again, the lineart was done entirely in pencils, in blue and 2b leads. There might be a few things I missed with the CG'ing, but I think it looks fine as it is. It took me a long time to finish this one, but looking at the final result, it was well worth the trouble!  |
